On February 21st, 2021, Pastor Eric spoke on “How to counter bitterness” (Hebrews 12:15). When bitterness is present in our lives, it dishonours God and it can destroy relationships, marriages, churches, communities, etc. The problem is not the conflict, but it’s how we deal with the conflict.

1. We are to stop it at the root. We can’t control what others do to us, but we can control how we deal with the problem.
2. We are to guard our heart. Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) says: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
3. We are to look at Jesus, not people’s faults. All of us make mistakes and if we look for faults in others, we will find them.
4. We are to ask the Holy Spirit for help: Ask Him to give us the same strength Jesus had.
